But like mersisblue said, in a mix situation the latency can be compensated for with the Dela圜omp plugin provided with the UAD-1. For the price this thing cost, this should have REAL mixing abilities RIGHT in the 002 without depending so much on the Software. But honestly, my Digi002 is just not good at dealing with tracking anyway. Forget about trying to track while using the UAD though. HOWEVER, this is a small price to pay for the sound and power this thing has to offer.

This would be esily fixed if ProTools would just include automatic delay compensation from within ProTools.instead I find my sound doing math to figure out how to make everything sink up. This sucks, but the workaround is simple enough. This in of itself would not be that bad, but the real problem is that restarting ProTools isn't enough to get it to start working correctly again. The only "issue" I have had so far is that when I max out the UAD-1's CPU it's starts shutting down plug-ins. Once you set it up, that's pretty much it, just open up ProTools and start inserting. The 1176 does what it is supposed to but this is not a compressor sound I have ever had much use for.Īs far as how well it works within ProTools, the adapter seems to be invisible.
But the channel strip also sounds awesome, as well as the RealVerb and the DreamVerb. If the card had only come with the Fairchild, the LA2A and the Pultec it still would have worth the money.

Plus of course you get the LA2A which is also stellar and the PultecEQ (I upgraded to the PultecPro for $80). So let's say the Universal Audio People didn't get it exactly right and they only came up with a $10,000 sounding Compressor.either way, this compressor kicks ass, and if this sounds this good I could only imagine what the real thing sounds like. The way I see it, the original Fairchilds cost around $30,000 a piece in good shape.
I have the Studio Pack which includes the Fairchild Compressor, Cambridge EQ, and Dreamverb, (these were extra with the old Mackie version of the card).all of which are amazing sounding plug-ins, especially the Fairchild.
